What is an audio drama?
Audio drama is a play for the radio or a play recorded as an alternative version of a book or movie. Many years ago audio dramas were very popular on the radio. People would sit around the radio together and listen to special programs at a certain time. It was like watching a movie but it involved more brain work, because to form a picture of what the action was about in a drama, listeners would use imagination.  Now you hear about audio dramas much rarer but this is not the reason to forget this beautiful thing.

In simple words in audio dramas actors retell the story usually based on a book in vivid conversations. The best thing about listening to audio dramas is that you listen to many voices. Every character is voiced in dramas.

But this is not the only advantage over a regular audio book, in audio dramas you can hear sounds. Yes, studios that produce audio dramas create a full sound coverage. This means you can hear raindrops, a creaky sound when doors open, footsteps and others. Such aspect helps to follow the story and not get bored.

Now, where can you listen to audio dramas? I use YouTube, simple as that. YouTube has everything. I love BBC dramas and if you think that they dramatize only childish stories I'd like to share with you this audio drama - Pet Sematary.

For a beginner it is hard to catch the whole meaning of a drama at the first time so you need to listen to it at least twice.
